PaperYap home screen: payments due before November, a drop zone to scan a document, bills due soon and recently saved documents

Overview

You scan or upload a document, and PaperYap says what it is, what it asks you to do and what to watch out for.

What it does

  1. 01

    Explains a document

Scan or upload a bill, letter, contract or form and get a plain-English summary, the key facts (amount, due date), what it asks you to do and what to watch out for, with the original shown beside it.

  2. 02

    Discard it or keep it

Discard a scan and it is never stored, or save it to a library sorted by category and searchable.

  3. 03

    Reminders

Email reminders before a due date, with a one-click turn-off.

  4. 04

    Ask about your documents

Ask questions about saved documents and get answers that cite their sources.

Approach

  1. 01

A fast, cheaper model reads every document first; a stronger model re-reads contracts, legal documents and unsure reads.

  2. 02

Scans that are not saved are processed in memory only.

  3. 03

Every result says it is not legal, medical or financial advice.
